Manitoba Just Closed a Door on Hospitality — Here’s the Honest Read

MANITOBA

Effective February 4, 2026

Manitoba’s Temporary Resident Retention Pilot, a popular employer-driven route to PR nomination, removed Hospitality and Food Services from its list of eligible sectors entirely. Any application from a hospitality employer submitted after February 4, 2026 is refused outright. In its place, the province added 16 skilled trades occupations instead.

We're not going to sugarcoat this one — if you're a Manitoba hospitality employer counting on the TRRP as a PR pathway for your team, that specific door is now shut. The honest move is to look at Express Entry, employer-specific LMIAs, or BC alternatives instead, and we can walk you through which fits.
